Delphi is a UK-based automotive parts manufacturing company. Founded in 1994 it has become one of the world’s largest automotive parts manufacturers, employing roughly 161,000 employees.
Delphi operates 126 manufacturing sites and 15 technical centers in 32 countries worldwide.
Originally formed by General Motors under the name Automotive Components Group, it was renamed Delphi Automotive Systems and was given ownership of Delco Electronics from the Hughes Electric Corporation.
After going public in 1999, Delphi Automotive Systems was renamed Delphi Corporation to reflect its diversified business direction.
