1. Wiring Relay Failure
Fault Codes:
P0621, P0622, P0560, U0001, or various low-voltage/communication codes depending on which relay circuit is affected. These typically point to electrical feed interruptions, stuck relays, or failing control circuits.
Why it happens:
Over time, the wiring relay and its surrounding harness can weaken due to heat, vibration, moisture intrusion, or simple aging of the electrical components. A failing relay may stick open or closed, cutting off power to essential systems like the fuel pump, ignition, cooling fan, or ECU power supply. Corroded terminals or loose connectors can also interrupt current flow, creating intermittent or complete system failure.
Symptoms:
- Intermittent No-Start: Engine may crank but fail to start when the relay doesn’t deliver consistent power.
- Random Stalling: Vehicle may shut off unexpectedly if the relay loses contact mid-drive.
- Electrical Glitches: Flickering dashboard lights, dim headlights, or sudden resets of radio/cluster.
- Relay Clicking Sounds: Audible rapid clicking from the fuse/relay box as the relay struggles to maintain contact.
- Loss of Power to Key Systems: Fuel pump, cooling fans, ignition coils, or ECU may stop receiving voltage.
- Check Engine Light / Warning Messages: Often paired with low-voltage or communication-related fault codes..
