These components include the axle shaft, inner and outer constant velocity (CV) joints, CV boots, clamps, and others. When an axle assembly is bad, you will often hear or feel a vibration or clicking sound, as the bearings in the CV no longer make a seamless fit and rotate smoothly. If this is replicable when going around a corner, the bad axle will be located on the UNLOADED side.
