The engine oil pan is a metal container located on the underside of the vehicle beneath the engine crankcase that collects falling oil during engine operation to be used again. The engine oil pan contains a drain plug for oil removal. Since the engine oil pan sits lower than the engine, it is exposed to the elements and potential road hazards.
